GIRLS' LONG WEEKEND IN OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND

Last weekend, 3 childhood friends and myself flew to Ocean City, Maryland to visit another childhood friend.  Three of us have been close friends since we were babies, even going to the same college and becoming teachers!  So every chance we have, we get together for  fun, shopping and fellowship!  We got straight off the plane and headed to the nearest shopping center for lunch and shopping!!

The first full day Sybil treated us to a "Fun Day".  We started the day at Subway getting sandwiches for a picnic on Assateague Island!
We were hoping to see the wild horses that live on the island but not one was to be seen, but the view was beautiful!
We traveled all over the island looking for those horses but never saw one!  Are these beaches beautiful or what?

We call ourselves - "Southern Ladies Up To Something", sometimes we share what we are up to and other times. . .

Tomorrow I will share the fun we had on the Boardwalk!!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

Scrappin' Kit Stampin' Party

I was so excited after my stampin' party the other night, because two of my stampers over came their fear of cutting their paper for their cards.  Usually one of their friends does all the cutting for them!  Now they are ready to conquer the "cutting" world.

We used the Razzleberry Splash Scrappin Kit to create 4 cards of their choice.  I gave them the kit, uncut and pictures of sample cards they could make.  Then they were on their own.  Of course, I was having so much fun watching  the ladies having fun creating their own cards that I forgot to take pictures until the end.  I was able to  capture these two, thrilled with their accomplishment of the night. . . . over coming that fear of cutting paper.

The ladies had plenty of supplies left  to continue making their cards at home to share with their friends.

This is what stampin' is all about, sharing what we love, and seeing others loving it as much as we do!  And. . . seeing the smiles on their faces when they are successful!!

Thank you for stopping by today!

This was Norma's first time attending a Stampin' Up! event and swapping big time!!

I was  so proud to have a downline attend Regionals with me!

These ladies from Centerville, Ohio, were very creative stampers that shared beautiful creations we will be sharing with our customers soon.

Savvy Southern Sisters' Awards Night

The Savvy Southern Sisters held their First Annual Awards Night this past week for those demonstrators living in the Charlotte area.

We began the night with a light dinner.

The Savvy Southern Sisters were reminded just how "fabulous" they were by the favor found at their place.

Attacked to the "Black Cherry Merlot" hand soap was a bow made with the wonderful Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, ( Love this ribbon!!!). accented with a pearl.  Attacked using the twine ribbon was the tag  stamped using the stamp set,  I AM,  we received at convention and embellished with the pearls.

Tomorrow I will share more highlights from our special night of celebration.

Thank you for stopping by.

One Last Post at Dear Lizzie's

As I looked at this sign over the sandwich counter at Dear Lizzie's, I couldn't help noticing the scalloped border and the bows attached to each hanger.  This reminded me of our new Large Scallop Edgelits ( 127019)  and Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die (115950).  Our First Edition Specialty Designer Paper ( 121878) would be excellent  in making these bows.

Always keep your camera  or phone handy because you never know when and where you are going to find great ideas to use in your paper crafting!

Here is another paper bow accented with an assortment of ribbons.

What a fantastic idea for garland to add that special touch to your next  shower, tea party, or  luncheon.  As you look closer, it is made from items that you all ready have in your pantry:  cupcake liners and doilies.  I immediately thought of all those mixed-matched doilies I had and the Paper Doily Sizzlits L (125592) and Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L (126999).  How quickly and simple  would that be to make!

Just a few more pictures of a sampling of the goodies found in the sandwich shop!

Shopping and spending money can wear you out.  One needs their nutriment to be successful in doing both!!  Rhonda Smith to the rescue. . . .Afternoon Tea  at Dear Lizzie's

Our tables awaits us stocked with a variety of teas!

And here is Priss all dressed up for her "Coming Out" party!  What a lovely table!!

Hungry shoppers, (Terry Bolender, Jessica Stark, Jennifer Rutkowski, our hostess, Rhonda Smith, me, and Bobbie Meyer) are ready for Afternoon Tea!

After we had selected our tea, an assortment of tea sandwiches were presented.  They tasted as delicious as they look!

Next came the scones with jams and lemon curd, topped with, you guessed it, sugar pearls!  Can't finished a card without our pearls!  Lemon curd and jams are no different!

And to top it all off. . . .the richest chocolate covered almonds and truffles!  We all felt like this picture, we needed to totally rest after all that rich food!!!  We kept telling ourselves, we were on vacation, calories didn't count!!!

What a fabulous ending to the perfect shopping experience!!

Again. thank you Rhonda for helping us make beautiful memories.

More highlights from Salt Lake tomorrow.

FIRST TIME ROOMIE GIFT

A tradition with the group that I hung with at convention was for a first time roomie to receive a "Build-a-Bear!  After luggage was unpacked, gifts exchange, and lunch on chicken balls, the group headed to Gateway Mall to pick out my bear and for others to spend their gift certificates from Rhonda Smith.  OMG!!!  Did I ever have a ball bringing my bear, who I name "Prissy" to life!

Had to add tons of love to her heart.

Prissy is introduced to her proud Auntie Rhonda!

As you can notice, she is lacking some much needed clothing!  That is when the real fun began!  I was like a "kid in a candy store" outfitting my little Prissy with top, bottoms, matching shoes, and of course, I had to shield her eyes from the bright sun with matching sun glasses.

After we left "Build-A-Bear" we headed to Dear Lizzies Boutique and Bistro, Shelli's favorite shoppe, for afternoon tea and more shopping.  You know what that meant, we had to outfit our bears in the appropriate attire. . . . so more shopping for party wear!

Below, Prissy is all dressed up in her new outfit with matching sandals, sun glasses and bows, anxiously waiting for her "coming out " tea party!

Tomorrow:  "The Coming Out Tea Party"

I  AM BACK!!

It is hard to believe that convention is over!  Last week was so much fun visiting with old friends and making new ones.

Below are some of the gifts that I gave my roommates which I put into a bag with the name of my stamping group the Savvy Southern Sister Stampers, since they are honorary members of my group.

What fun it was to make and select these  gifts for special people!

Rhonda Smith, my roommate, is tasting the rock candy Bobbie Meyers gave us in a cute decorated jar with a flower made with our Big Shot dies.
Jennifer Rutkowski is checking out the goodie bags made from SU fabric Rhonda gave us filled with all kinds of goodies, while Terry Bolender and I were taking pictures of each other.

After our gift exchange, Bobbie Meyer, Rhonda Smith, and Jennifer Rutkowski were busy swapping all those card swaps we had been busily making the last month for convention.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Drop in tomorrow for more pre-convention pictures.

Don't Forget Your Envelope!

After you have created your beautiful card, don't stop there. . . .decorate your ENVELOPE!!!  This is a way to start building anticipation for the receiver of your card. One of the most "eye-catching" method is to attach either matching or coordinating designer paper to the flap of the envelope.

Cut your designer paper ~ 5 3/4 x 2 1/4

Attach to the flap using double-sided tape.

Trim off access.

Who wouldn't feel special receiving one of these in the mail!!

Thanks for stopping by.

FATHER'S DAY CARD

My card for today is  perfect  for the special man in your life
who loves the water.

The base is Whisper White, layered with Island Indigo.  Of course, I had to use thePerfect Polka Dots embossing folder on the third layer.  The sailboat, from the Sail Away stamp set, is stamped in black and the Island Indigo Marker is used for the highlights.  Embellishments are silver brads from the Metallic Brads collection, Marina Mist Ribbon, and the Island Indigo Baker's Twine
